Remembering Andy Hallett - Join The Facebook Event!

There's still plenty of time to get everyone on board again. Be sure I'll do my part.

Last March 29th I joined the Facebook event by wearing something green, singing and wearing my fake (Twitter) red horns and using all this # #AndyHallett #AndyHallettTribute #IwillNeverForget #IloveBeingGrrreen #8yearsago (You might have read about #IloveBeingGrrreen before here)

After that, and due to some unknown reasons, Facebook decided the event can't be used for another year and this lady created a new event.

It might have felt weird that a stranger was in there (me) encouraging her (this lady who was arranging and getting all people together) to make this annual event work.

It's better late than never, they say. Last one to arrive but making sure I stand out. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ™…

Please, make sure to join and share to all people who can be interested in this.

As the description of the event says:

I'm hopeful that we can build this one up and keep it for many years to come!
(This is an annual event.)

Andy Hallett's an American actor and singer, born in Osterville, Massachusetts, and best known for his role of 'Lorne (The Host)' in Joss Whedon's TV show 'Angel'.

He had amazing singing and acting abilities, and seemed to be a good guy off screen.

At the age of 33 (on March 29th, 2009), he passed away due to congestive heart failure.

In his memory, and to raise awareness of heart problems, I am asking that people wear at least one item of green on March 29th.

Andy was more than just 'Lorne', but the character of Lorne is what he is best known for, so we are remembering him by doing what Lorne would do:

- Wear Green
- Sing Karaoke, or just sing!
- Call people food related nicknames
- Drink a Seabreeze

And encourage donations to your local heart research charities. (Information below)

Please pass this invite on to any fans and people that care about the cause!

American Heart Association

Australian Heart Foundation

British Heart Foundation

New Zealand National Heart Foundation

European Heart Foundations (members of the European Heart Network)

Any clue when this show was taped?.

I have been having some hard time at work so I didn't have much time to update this place. Sorry for that!!

So I decided to take a little break from my tasks got into Youtube and found these two gems! Why the hell Youtube would hide this from me all this time? It really gets me when I type Andy's name on Google, or when I search something on Youtube and it won't show all the stuff that is out there.

So, yes, what you find it here it's because every now and then I do some Andy or Lorne research and every time I get a different result! Unbelievable!!๐Ÿ˜

Don't want to bore you with the details but I just found these two beautiful videos of Andy. Just like everytime I listen to him, I at least smile or even laugh. These two videos are good and beautiful way to remind him, keep him in our hearts, delight our ears with the sound of this voice and smile while we wonder who would he be singing to now?

By the way, you guys have any idea when this was taped ? I have no clue. Youtube user won't say. I would love to get some dates to all the captions in my mind that I have of him. Mind helping me?

Enjoy meanwhile....

Second part....

10 Awesome Reasons to watch Angel [Spoilers]๐Ÿ’š

I have to confess that number 13 is a magic number to me. Thanks to that number I won a little lottery (twice) at Christmas. 13 brought out one the best music albums I have ever heard in many years (from one of my favourite artists). 13 was the day a very special lady was born, a lady I once knew. 13 was my lucky number since I found under its magic some very special friends (probably the best friends I will ever had).๐Ÿ’š

So 13 years ago today, Angel's Not Fade away was first aired. And for me this is the best reason and moment to give you my 10 Lorne Favourite Moments, 10 Awesome Reasons to watch Angel. My ten favourite moments of Angel (Of course, as you may guess, all Lorne related - ever doubt it?๐Ÿ˜‰ ).

1. When Lorne is first introduce (Season 2) into the show he is in charge of a lovely karaoke bar called Caritas (and yet my favourit karaoke bar ever since). He reads peoples's future and auras while they sing. The first time Lorne and Angel met is probably one of my favourite scences ever.

2. Pylea arc (Season 2) is definitely my favourite Lorne moments of the whole series. But there's some scene in particular, I get goose bums every time I watch it. Let's called it  The "Somewhere over the Rainbow" moment. How can Lorne be so different from all their Pylean fellows. Truth to be told, the Pylea arc is full of Lorne Awesome moments. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Lorne-Angel) from My Andy Hallett's Place on Vimeo.

3. One of my favourite moments is when that spell goes wrong and Lorne tells the story and the comments in between while he was unconscious. I truly love this moment from Spin in the Bottle (Season 4).

4. This other moment is also one of the reasons why Lorne is my favourite character. He is so loving and caring with everyone, taking care of Faith when he actually knew nothing about her. This meme sums up pretty well everything.

5. This last one here is one of my other reasons why I love this show and Lorne. You can always feel safe with Lorne, no matter how much he moans, he loves doing good for others. He is an empathic demon, how can he not?.

6. If you don't know Lorne you might think he is another fighter. But he is not. He is anything but a fighter but he's got his way to win the evil ones over. He won't use his hands though, he uses his most powerful weapon: his amazing natural voice (and yes, it's Andy's voice all the time). In Happy Anniversary (Season 2) you can see some of his power.

7. So I am going to get a bit superficial here, but I am sure you will understand ๐Ÿ˜ƒ One of the cutest Lorne moments ever is on Life of The Party (Season 5) when he finally gets some sleep and that moment when Angel tucks him, his face is just the cutest!

8. Almost getting to end, and leaving the best for the end ๐Ÿ˜ƒ One of the most beautiful moments in the show is when Angel and Darla dance together while Lorne sings Get Here. (The reason why they do, you will have to find out watching the show ๐Ÿ˜‰)

9. Another greater moment of the show is when Lorne, in this sad episode, hits Eve to protect Fred. That's just awesome moment and awesome lines.

10. This one I share now, they are two different moments I like equally. One is the moment Lorne gets on stage and sings It's Not Easy Being Green and Lady Marmalade (The House Always Wins, Season 4) (the only two official songs we have to remember Andy) This other one it's just so great I got a t-shirt with this same photo and line. You just gotta love Lorne! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ’š

13 years ago the show that gave us one of the brightest stars on the whole universe will come to the end, but in here I will make sure this star will never go out.

Thank you for visiting and reading.

If you have enjoyed, pretty please, share with all your friends and contacts. Thankyou a bunch!

Angela Sorensen "He made the cutest, most genuine smile I have ever seen".

Angela's experience with Andy is something I can relate a lot to. If I ever had the chance to meet Andy, it would have probably been kinda similar.

I thank her for sharing and sending all the photos. Please enjoy reading:

"Back in 2005, I had attended my first convention. It was a Wizard World convention in Chicago, and I went for one reason, and one reason only: Amber Benson. Amber played Tara from my favorite TV show Buffy, and at the time I had just learned that these sorts of things even existed. So when I heard about it, obviously I had to go. So I went, met Amber, and it was amazing. I was hooked! Needless to say, when I was reading my Buffy & Angel magazines and seeing ads about official conventions for JUST Buffy and Angel, I knew I had to find one close enough that I could attend. And that would end up being the Motor City Buffy Con in Ypsilanti Michigan.

The first ad I ever saw for the convention, before Andy was even added to the guest list!

I can tell you about many experiences that I had this weekend, but there is one particular person that I can say to this day, was more of an honor than just an experience. And that person is Andy Hallett. Andy, as you know, plays the character Lorne on the show Angel, and Lorne has been one of my all time favorite television characters since he first appeared as the character simply known as the Host. The empath demon who could tell you your fortune…but only as you sang. So clearly he ran a karaoke bar. Then it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Andy was scheduled to run the karaoke event on Friday night, the first night of the convention. An event I was very excited about! Wasn’t going to sing, just watch, of course. But how cool to have Lorne host our official karaoke party at the convention? Only one problem. His flight was delayed and he couldn’t make it in time. As disappointing as that was, I will say Tony Head did a great job filling in, but still, Andy would have been perfect being the host! I even managed to get front row seats for the event and would have gotten some great pictures of Andy.

After Andy’s flight was delayed, we didn’t know for sure when he would arrive and if it would be in time for the next day’s events. But as my friend and I sat in the lobby the next morning, we were in for a little surprise. Andy was suddenly walking through the hotel being lead by a staff member and looked like he was on his way to something important. But that did not deter him from acknowledging us. My friend and I looked at him, and he looked right over at us, and made the cutest, most genuine smile I have ever seen and topped it off with a little wave. Now I have to say, that to this day, when I think of Andy, that is the image that I see in my head. It can never be damaged or replaced. That moment was the epitome of Andy and his personality. So loving and filled with pure kindness.

Pictures during Andy's panel. You can't see very well, but you can definitely see that smile! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Note: I put some Photoshop on it to make them a bit brighter....๐Ÿ˜

Later that day we attended Andy’s panel. I have some very distant, blurry pictures from this and an even a worse memory for what he talked about. Time can do that, sadly. But the next day was when I actually got to meet him, and talk to him. As you can imagine, he was incredibly sweet and you could just tell that he loved being there. So gracious with his fans and gave everyone such a wonderful memory and experience. I was shy and didn’t say too much. But he asked me if I wanted my picture personalized and if I was having a nice time at the convention. I said “yes” to both, and thanked him for coming and said how happy I was to see him. He let me take a picture of him signing my photo, so I could have it for my memories. And I had asked my friend who was behind me in line to take a picture of me talking to Andy. So I am very fortunate to have that photo, as I was never able to get an official photo op with him due to not being able to afford any extras at the time. But, I am forever grateful to have the pictures I have, and the memories I have of Andy! Simple, short, but sweet!

Me talking to Andy and asking if I can take his picture while he signs my photo

And of course he said I could. ๐Ÿ’š

I remember when I first heard of Andy’s passing. I was heartbroken. The first thought that came into my mind, was that day when Andy walked by and smiled and waved at me. Forever engraved in me.

Rest in peace, Andy. You were such an amazing soul and you are severely missed by many. But you will never be forgotten! Thank you for giving us Lorne, and for giving me your time back in 2005. I will never forget it! And every so often in the summer, I make myself a seabreeze in your honor. ๐Ÿ’š"

I bet you have enjoyed this. When I got this on my email it made my day! What an awesome moment!

(Review) Chance: " He is a God".

I'm sure you have heard of this movie before. It's called Chance written and Directed by the beautiful and talented Amber Benson (best known as Tara in Buffy, The Vampire Slayer).

I have to confess that the first time I watched this movie was because James Marsters was on it. But, when Andy gets in front of the camera, everything changes. The camera seem to love Andy as much as we all do everytime we get on screen.

Second time I watched I was dying to see Andy.

Chance is a girl who's looking for Mr.Right, like everyone of us. But she gets into all this relationships expecting to find her soulmate in the way. And poor her, she gets her eyes on impossible one. Jack (played by Andy) is a guy from a night club that meets Chance when he is performing in there.

Chance phrase is just perfect to start this post because she is too damn right. Andy was a God. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜

So I would love to spoil you the whole movie, but instead, I want you to grab a copy and watch it. Believe me, it's worth watching: the script is good and the roles are perfectly portrayed by some great and talented guys.

You can grab your copy on Ebay here or maybe on Amazon.

You can watch it on Youtube but it's very bad quality and I recommend to enjoy the whole movie as it is.

If you have watched already, please let me know what you think....and what do you think of Jack, Andy's role in it?.

Thanks for commenting below and sharing if you've enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
